Pawdit
Draft for review. Last updated 28 July 2026. Written to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Your account and pet data exist to power your own experience: allergen checks, life-stage matching, health condition notes, and your pet's bowl assessment. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with brands or retailers.
Pawdit is free for pet owners because pet food brands pay for aggregated, de-identified insights about what the community cares about. Before any event enters our analytics system we strip your name, email address, pet names, exact location and account identifiers. Sessions are identified only by a one-way hash that changes daily and cannot be traced back to you. Insights are only ever shown to brands as aggregates across many users, never individually.
Browsing without an account: public pages (like the product explorer) record the same kind of anonymised usage events for visitors who are not signed in. A random identifier is stored in a cookie on your device so that a browsing session holds together; it is combined with a one-way hash that changes daily, contains no name, email or precise location, and cannot be linked across days or connected to an account you might create later.
Product requests: if you ask us to add a product we do not yet list and you have left analytics contribution on, the product name you typed (automatically scrubbed of anything that looks like an email address or phone number) may be counted in aggregated demand insights shown to brands, and only once at least 10 people have asked for the same product. Requests from users who have turned analytics contribution off are never included.
You can turn this contribution off at any time in Settings; the platform works identically either way. See How your data helps the pet community for the plain-language version.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your profile, pet profiles, diet stacks, saved products, and any not-yet-processed analytics events linked to your session. Analytics records that have already been de-identified (aggregated events and monthly summaries) are not deleted: they contain no name, email, account identifier, or any other information that could identify you, and are therefore no longer personal information under APP 12.
You can view and edit your details in Settings at any time. For access or correction requests beyond that, or any privacy question or complaint, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
